On May 1, last year, the society was shocked by an accident of tower cranes crash at Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province, which claimed the lives of 6 workers with 25 others injured.

The government acted promptly with the announcement of tower-crane disaster prevention measures and unveiled the trauma management plan targeting the victims who experienced or witnessed the serious accident.

However, there are still some workers who have not been recognized as the victims of the industrial accident. For instance, a worker with the surname of Jin(55) was wounded in the arm and leg, but his application for the approval of the industrial accident was turned down, for the reason that he was a team leader of a group of subcontract workers at the shipyard. Due to acute traumatic stress. he goes to see a neuropsychiatrist at his own cost. A new fact is also found that some wounded workers hired by the second-tier subcontractors were not included on the injury list of 25 workers.
