The number of fatal industrial accidents has remained unabated, despite the measures announced jointly by the related ministries of the government on Jan. 23 to reduce the fatal industrial accidents.
Only three days after the announcement of the government measures, eight workers lost their lives in a row due to fatal accidents occurred at the workplaces of Hyundai Heavy industries in Ulsan, POSCO in Pohang, a Hyundai Motor subcontractor in Asan, and a metal processing factory in Yeosu Yulchon Industrial Complex.
The labor circle called for "the effective measures to prevent the fatal workplace accidents rather than words", pointing out the outsourcing as the culprit of the accidents.
