LG Uplus Home Service Center workers who install and repair the internet and internet protocol television(IPTV) went on a warning strike for a day on August 8 to call for their direct employment status. In response to the contingent service workers' walkout, allegations were made that LG Uplus and several of its subcontractors committed unfair labor practices.

The Hope Solidarity Union's LG Uplus Irregular Workers Chapter unveiled the circumstantial evidences of unfair labor practices on August 15 and said that "both LG Uplus which uses them as the real employer and its subcontractors which run the service centers in each region and employ them on paper are committing a serious level of unfair labor practices during the strike period." It is reported that the Hope Solidarity Union's regional and local chapters will continue their partial walkout until the end of August.
